IDR is seeking a Contract Manager to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Austin, Texas. This role involves overseeing complex IT sourcing projects within a government agency, supporting critical procurement functions through the DIR Cooperative Contracts program. The position provides an excellent opportunity to work with a dedicated team on high-impact projects in the public sector.
Position Overview for the Contract Manager:
- Lead and manage IT sourcing initiatives, ensuring compliance with state procurement laws and regulations
- Develop, evaluate, and document procurement processes, policies, and procedures
- Coordinate sourcing for large scope and high-dollar contracts, including defining requirements and reviewing bids
- Collaborate with legal counsel and business units to optimize contract outcomes
- Work independently with considerable latitude, supporting continuous process improvements and vendor management goals
Requirements for the Contract Manager:
- 8+ years of experience developing and implementing sourcing and vendor management processes
- In-depth knowledge of Texas procurement laws, regulations, and contract management guidelines
- Experience managing procurement projects and interacting with legal counsel and business units
- Strong negotiation skills and understanding of vendor performance evaluation systems
- Knowledge of IT procurement, contract negotiations, and the public sector environment is preferred
