IDR is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join one of our top clients for Houston, Texas. This role involves procuring goods and services, supporting sourcing and purchasing needs, and managing supplier relationships within an industry focused on energy, power, or related sectors. Position Overview for the Sourcing Specialist:
- Support sourcing and procurement activities across multiple business units or stations.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and execute purchasing strategies.
- Analyze market, industry, and spend data to identify savings opportunities.
- Coordinate technical, cost, and delivery requirements with suppliers and internal teams.
- Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements for the Sourcing Specialist:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience with sourcing, procurement, and supplier management, including negotiating contracts and executing purchasing strategies.
- Experience with inventory management and ERP systems (such as SAP), ensuring accurate data, optimal stock levels, and efficient order processing.
- Experience in supplier relationship management, including developing partnerships, managing KPIs, and resolving delivery or quality issues.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and communication, supporting sourcing decisions and aligning with business and operational stakeholders.
